Messenger, which belongs to Meta, opens up a whole host of possibilities for us – from writing text messages, to recording voice messages, to sending emoji, stickers or GIFs, even to making voice calls. What is important in many cases, however, on Messenger we are able to create group chats, in which we can address messages to many people at the same time. Meta has also prepared quite a few features just for chat windows with multiple members.
How to make and what can a survey on Messenger be useful for?
A poll on Messenger comes in handy for group voting – both personal and work-related. If you’ve created a group for a project for school, college or work, you can decide on certain things by a majority vote with a poll like this.
It can also be used for private purposes – for example, to determine what movie you are going to the cinema, what restaurant you are going to at the weekend or what food should be prepared for a house party – it is an option that allows you to solve literally any problem, from a serious matter to a simple triviality.
First, you need to create a group. This is a really trivial activity. When you enter the Messenger app, you have to click on the icon located in the top right corner – when you do that, you will be able to write a message to your friends or just create a new group conversation. At the very top you will see the option “Create new group”. – and this is where we need to click. Then we select all the friends, which we want to add to such a group, choose a name for the conversation and its picture. After that everything is ready and we can enjoy the group conversation.
How to make a poll in a group conversation on Messenger on iPhone?
Unfortunately, some time ago Meta disabled the option to create polls in the Messenger app. The feature had already disappeared for a while before being restored – but as it turns out, for unexplained reasons, these are again disabled. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to create such a poll on iPhones – the alternative solution for votes is to use emoji reactions to messages, such as using paws up and paws down.
How to make a poll in a group conversation on Messenger on an Android phone?
Just like on iPhones, on Android smartphones it is also not possible to create a poll in a group chat. If Meta decides to bring back this feature – which would be most welcome – we’ll be sure to let you know.
How to make and edit a survey created on a group chat on Messenger?
When the surveys were still available, only the person who created them could edit them – any member of the group was not able to change the questions or answer options available in the survey. Only the creator of the survey could edit it.
Will polls return to Messenger? It’s hard to tell at the moment – nothing heralded that they were going to disappear, and yet. This is all the more strange because WhatsApp, which is also owned by Meta, has recently been enhanced with this feature. Let’s hope, however, that polls will return to the Facebook-connected messenger, because it is a very useful feature.
