Internet businesses can be worth a lot of money these days. The example of a YouTuber known as MrBeast shows it perfectly. Without hesitation he rejected an offer for $1 billion.
MrBeast – the most wasteful YouTuber
He has over 100 million subscribers on his main channel and a few – tens of millions each on the next five. MrBeast is undoubtedly one of the most popular YouTubers in the world, and yet there is nothing surprising if you do not recognize him. His profile is quite… specific.
MrBeast – whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson – is known for his profligacy. He makes a huge amount of money from his business and then pumps substantial amounts of money into more movies. It was he who organized Squid Game in real life almost a year ago and spent almost half a million dollars on the prize for the winner of the tournament. Anyway, he is responsible for various challenges in which he offers prizes going into hundreds of thousands of dollars.
A billion dollars? “A little low.”
In 2021 alone, MrBeast earned around $54 million, making him the highest-earning YouTuber. Unsurprisingly, there are those interested in buying out his empire. In a FLAGRANT podcast, he admitted that he was recently offered $1 billion in exchange for his channels and other businesses (which include a game company and a chain of Beast Burgers restaurants).
MrBeast first found the offer tempting, but then rejected it. He said it was far too little. – “I think we should be talking more like $10 billion or even $20 billion,” he admitted in the aforementioned podcast.
