If you will be doing it for the first time, you can safely assume that it will take about an hour. An experienced person who has installed WordPress many times before – needs 5 minutes to do it.
How to edit your WordPress site
Once properly installed, all you have to do is log into the panel and start working on your site using themes and plugins.
Logging into WordPress
Do you want to log in to WordPress? You need to type the following address into your browser window: www.nazwabloga.pl/wp-login.php to display the login screen. You can then log in using the username (email) and password you set during registration. If you absentmindedly forgot or lost your password during installation, you can reset it by clicking the Forgot Password link.
User panel (Cockpit)
Once you have successfully logged in, it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the WordPress user panel. At this point, the real WordPress blogging adventure begins. The WordPress user panel is very clear and intuitive. On the left you will find an expanded Menu with all the features. On the right, you will see windows of selectable features. For example, by clicking on the Entries section, a list of published posts will appear on the screen. The analogy is with other menu items.
Navigation cockpit
The two main navigation elements of WordPress are the Toolbar and the Admin Panel (Menu). The toolbar and admin panel may have additional options depending on what theme or plugins you have installed. Below we describe the options available from a basic WordPress installation.
Toolbar
The toolbar is located in the header of the page and is mainly responsible for blog navigation. It’s especially useful if you’re logged into the blog page, but you’re not in the user panel, but in the blog preview. The toolbar will vary depending on where you are – user panel or blog preview.

WordPress owes its popularity to its ease of use and modification capabilities. The ease of building WordPress sites, modifying, changing the look is based on WordPress Themes. It is through the theme features that you can change the look and features of your blog.
What is a WordPress theme?
A theme (Themes) is a collection of files that together create the look, layout, and functionality of a WordPress-based blog. A theme is responsible for the total look of the site from the menu design, color scheme, typography, page layout and numerous functionalities. Each theme can be different, offering many ways to change the look of a WordPress website. Colloquially, themes are also often referred to as templates or skins.
Themes are prepared by professional programmers and graphic designers. They can be divided into two categories: free and premium. Many free themes can be found in WordPres themes directory called repository and premium themes can be bought from online stores, individual companies and WordPress developers. WordPress is installed with three default blog themes: Twenty Seventeen, Twenty Sixteen, and Twenty Fourteen. These are the three official themes designed by WordPress.org. They are distinguished by extreme simplicity, speed, professional and simple code. You can set up virtually any type of blog on such clean themes. Many of the best blogs use one of these themes or they provide a base for creating your own theme.
A theme affects the look of your blog, so you don’t have to limit yourself to these three themes. If you don’t like any of the themes already installed, you can easily choose from thousands of free themes or premium themes. To change a theme, choose Appearance>Themes from the left-hand menu, and then click Add New Theme.
From the cockpit, you can browse the available themes in the WordPress repository or upload a premium theme you’ve previously purchased. When you find a theme you like, click Install. If you have more skins installed in the Themes tab, you can freely change and activate the new theme on your blog. Hover your cursor over the theme thumbnail and click Activate. Then go to Appearance>Customize tab where you will configure your blog. In the Customize panel, you can change the look of your blog according to the theme’s capabilities.
However, unless you have specific requirements for a very specific blog design, I suggest using one of the basic themes to start with. You can change your blog theme at any time by simply activating a new theme. Changing the theme is the easiest way to customize your blog, but there are other ways to customize your blog using plugins or custom code.

You can add new plugins by searching for them in the pool available in the WordPress repository or upload a premium plugin downloaded to your computer.
Editing and adding content
Editing and adding content on the WordPress platform is done by adding content on Pages and in Entries (posts) that create blog content or news on a WordPress site. How to add new pages, create a blog post and how publish it?
Pages
After the long road of conceptualizing, installing, and configuring a WordPress site, it was time to add subpages. How to create a subpage and how to publish it?
Go to the menu on the left and click Pages. You’ll see that there’s already a Sample Page entry there. This is the default subpage on every new WordPress installation. You don’t need it, so you can delete it by clicking Trash just below the page name if you’re in the Pages list, or Move to Trash if you’re in edit page mode. To add a custom subpage and start creating a new page, click the Add New button.
You have created the first subpage and are now in edit mode. Each subpage on WordPress consists of the following fields: Title, and Featured Image which you need to complete. You add the page content, links, and images from the Visual/Text Editor or using the Gutenberg Editor. In the end, you click Publish or Update if new changes have been made to the subpage.
Entries (posts)
In addition to adding and editing pages, you can also blog or add news to your site using entries. How to create a blog post and how to publish it?
Go to the menu on the left and click Entries. You’ll see that there’s already a Hello World entry there. This is the default post on any new WordPress blog. You don’t need it, so you can delete it by clicking Trash just below the post if you’re in the entries list or Move to Trash if you’re in edit entry mode. To add your own entry and start writing a new post, click the Add New button.
You have created your first entry and are now in post-editor mode. Each post on WordPress consists of the following fields: Title, Categories, Tags, and Featured Image that you need to complete. You add the post content, links, and images from within the Visual/Text Editor or using the Gutenberg Editor. Finally, click Publish, or Update if you’ve made new changes to the entry.

So one step at a time: Type the title of your new post, then start typing the post below. In the right hand column, select the Category of the entry, Tags, and Featured Image, which will be the main photo of the post. If you want to add a photo inside the post, click the Add Medium button and follow the instructions, and finally click Insert into the post to add the photo. Every post has what’s called a “lead”, this is a short introduction to the post visible along with the photo on the main blog page, you can add it in the lead box under the post editor. When you finish editing your post, click the blue Publish button to publish it. If you don’t want the entry to be visible to everyone, you can change its Availability to Private in the Publish box. To see the new entry click View entry in the top taskbar, if you want to make corrections to the post and go back to the edition click Edit entry in the same place. Remember, you have to finish every subsequent change after editing the entry by clicking the Update button.
